Hi!
This happens to me very often, just don't get the chance to ask. Whenever I use the url/search bar on the top of Safari, it occasionally sends me to the actual URL rather than a Google search (and this happens with any search engine). Why does Safari not use the search engine sometimes and sometimes it does? Thanks! Neeron

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Are you typing in the address of an actual web site? That will bypass the search engine. Try posting a couple of entries that take you straight to the web site.
I’m not typing a URL, I’m typing a search query, but if I click enter, it thinks its a URL. When I search something, I have to manually click google search in the dropdown menu.

Thanks! I seems to be only High Sierra, but I found a simpler solution. Whenever it appears with the URL logo, just click Command it seems to go back to a search query. Weird bug, but thanks!
