How to change the text color on desktop icons

Hi!

I have just chosen a mainly white desktop background image and the file names (white with a shadow), barely stand out.

While this is not a "crucial" situation, I would appreciate if someone shared with me a tip on how to change the font color. My Mac operates on Sierra.

It's not possible. Your only option is to use a slightly darker wallpaper.
