How can I force Numbers to refresh?

I have a spreadsheet that uses the stock function and then uses the stock price to perform calculations. Although my stock price is updating every day, my calculations are not. For example, I have one function that multiplies the number of shares by the stock price. This hasn't changed for some time even though the stock price has moved significantly (for example, it shows 1 x 10 = 8). I can even delete the stock price completely and the function still shows a value (for example 1 x <null> = 8). Is there a setting somewhere that I've inadvertently turned off?

Thank you for the suggestions, I tried restarting Numbers and restarting the Mac but the problem persists. There's something corrupting the file I think. I noticed that if I double click a cell containing a formula then press return the cell refreshes but if I then changed one of the values the calculation didn't refresh again. However, I've now tried copying/pasting the table into a brand new Numbers file and it refreshed before my eyes so I'll go and copy all of the other tables over.

There is no setting that pauses calculations such as Excel has.

Perhaps you should try restarting your Mac.

Also you could try entering the formula in another cell of the same document.

Or starting a new document and seeing if you have the same behavior there.

Also make sure the price for that security is updating as expected in Yahoo! Finance. That’s where Numbers gets the data.

This is very strange behavior and the first time I have heard of it happening. The typical problem is the stock functions not updating or not finding the price for a given stock.

Formula should calculate based on what is in the referenced cell(s). If your formulas are what you think they are I can only guess Numbers is having an issue or the document is corrupted in some way. Restarting Numbers or rebooting might fix it up if it is Numbers acting up.
