Sudden high contrast in display

my iPad suddenly has Hugh contrust in display. Most of the graphics cannot be seen clearly.

i went to the accessibility section to try some of the display options but nothing works. I also tried to hold the home button and on/off button for 15 seconds to reset but it does not work as well.

is this a hardware or software issue?

Hello Scizzor88,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're seeing a possible display issue on your iPad.

You mentioned you've checked out your Accessibility settings. Did this issue start after you changed a setting, or did it happen on its own?

Which settings did you try adjusting in Settings > General > Accessibility? For example, Increase Contrast, Display Accommodations, or something else?

When you restarted your iPad, how did the Apple logo look while it was booting? If you saw the same issue while it was booting up, I recommend using this link to Contact Apple Support for further assistance.

On the other hand, if all looks normal while it's starting up, you might try a restore of your device. First, I recommend a backup. Here's How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings . Be sure to set the iPad up as new after restoring to effectively test. If everything looks normal, your next step is to bring back your data with this link: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup .

If the issue persists when you restore it to new, though, or if it happens again once you restore your backed up data, that's again when it will be best to Contact Apple Support .

I hope this helps you.

Take care.
