Cannot get 2560x1080 on Macbook Pro

I just bought the LG ultra wide 29" monitor and cannot get it to show at the 2560x1080. I am connecting through a mini-display to HDMI cable. I have gone to display options>scale while holding option to get more options but 2560x1080 never shows.

MacBook Pro, late 2011 running High Sierra
