Notification pops up on the left side of screen v2

This is a continuation of the previous thread on this topic at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8204058 which I'm unable to reply to.

I started having the problem of notifications popping up in the upper left corner after installing the latest 10.14.1 update. Searching around the settings did not reveal anything, and luckily the problem went away (at least for now) after another system reboot.

I'm not aware of a way to report bugs or follow reported bug with Apple, posting this to hopefully be useful for other users, and as a method to let Apple know that this bug is still there.

An easy way to repeatedly test notifications is from the commandline (found on https://code-maven.com/display-notification-from-the-mac-command-line):

osascript -e 'display notification "test notification"'
