should removing an album on iphone be reflected on itunes master app

If I delete an album from the music app on my iPhone8 and then sync to iTunes/master application on my PC should the album be removed there, I would have assumed so? What’s actually happening is that the album is being restored from the PC to the phone, which is annoying.

Any help appreciated.

No, it does not work that way. If you want to get rid of the album, first remove it from your iTunes library (the "master") and then sync the phone.

Thanks, that’s a crap idea though, it makes using your iphone music app to manage music meaningless... but ok.

Not exactly. Yes, if you sync with iTunes, iTunes is the "master." However, you can completely manage your music without syncing to iTunes.

Check out this guide, which suggests alternatives:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes on your computer - Apple Support

"Before you use iTunes to sync content to your iOS device, consider using iCloud, Apple Music, or similar services to keep content from your Mac or PC in the cloud. This way, you can access your music, photos, and more on your iOS devices when you aren't near your computer. Learn more about using Apple Musicor iCloud Photos instead of iTunes."

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, which I’ve now looked into. Please confirm if my summary is correct - Apple music is £10 a month and match £21.99 a year and you need one of these products to be able to

use incloud sharing, BUT it doesn’t support playlists.

It is possible to keep local copies of albums/tracks on individual ios devices, but you need to click the cloud icon to download them.

Is there a global setting to download all tracks locally to the device?

This is hard work,

That is mostly incorrect. I haven't checked the UK pricing, but doubt you will get an annual for 21.99 GBP. Yes Apple Music has playlists - see Create and share playlists - Apple Support . And since the library has 35 million tracks, I doubt there is a way to "download all tracks locally to the device."

Anyway, you can offer feedback directly to Apple about improving iTunes syncing, via this link:
