Again, download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance. It has the capability of removing adware.

Or, download and run Malwarebytes. It was developed by a highly respected contributor to these forums and recommended by Apple.

Old Toad has given you the a link to the official web site for EtreCheck. The app is written and maintained by long-time forum user, etresoft. You won't find a single experienced user here who would tell you not to use it. I use it myself, and recommend it often. I wouldn't do that if there were even the slightest reason to mistrust it.

etresoft originally wrote it to save time here. Multiple times a day, users would have to play 20 questions to get useful information out of someone to help them with their issues. He wrote EtreCheck for these forums so we wouldn't have to do that. The output shows all kinds of things we no longer need to ask one at a time:

Model Mac

Installed RAM

Is the drive full?

SSD or hard drive?

Is the drive failing?

What apps are running?

Are any of those apps known malware or adware?
And more.
