How to turn on HDR on iPhone X?

My camera doesn’t show choosing HDR as an option. In system settings I’ve chosen Auto HDR, but when I examine the photos in PHOTOS they don’t indicate HDR.

macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Hello Pamela Mullen2,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that your photos on your iPhone X don't use HDR, even though you've set HDR to Auto. I can surely see how this could be concerning. You've come to the right place!

When HDR is set to Auto, your iPhone will determine whether or not each photo would look better with or without HDR. If it's determined that HDR isn't effective that photo won't use HDR. If you'd like to capture an HDR image each time a photo is taken, set HDR to On. Please take a look at the information and steps in the link below:

Use HDR on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Let us know if the issue persists. Please include any troubleshooting steps you may have tried.

Have a great day!
