Apple music glitching after update?

Ever since i have updated my phone to ios 12.1, my apple music can never play a full song. it always glitches in between or even completely stops. sometimes it wont even play when i am not connected to internet. i am not sure if it is my phone or apple music but it is upsetting me because i pay for it and it is not working in the way it should. Any help?

I am having the same problem. After upgrading to the 12.1 the downloaded iTunes music on my iPhone 8S is skipping at times and every song glitches for about a second during playback while using Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay only. It worked perfectly before the upgrade. This is extremely annoying and I have temporarily cancelled my iTunes subscription until this issue is resolved. iTunes music that has not been downloaded and music on YouTube do not skip or glitch. This is strictly downloaded iTunes music that is being played using Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. I have reset my network settings, restarted the phone and reset all settings. I have not tried a factory reset and prefer not too. Please help fix this problem.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here. I understand that Apple Music isn't working as you're expecting, and I'm happy to give you a hand with this.

Does this happen when you're connected to Wi-Fi as well as when you use your cellular data plan? You mention that sometimes it happens when you're not connected to the Internet. Do you download your songs for offline play from Apple Music?

In the meantime, I would recommend restarting your iPhone ( Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ) and seeing if the issue continues after that. If you're still seeing the music not playing properly, you can also sign out of Apple Music and back in again. You can do this from Settings > iTunes & App Stores, however we do want to point out that this will remove any music you've downloaded locally. The songs will still be in your library but you'll just have to redownload them from Apple Music.
