Safari 12.0.1 deleted all my bookmarks

Hi. My safari just got updated to 12.0.1 but when I opened it all my bookmarks were gone! Is there any way I can get them back??

If you can't restore from iCloud, do you have a backup you can restore from? If you have a Time Machine backup, open the Time Machine application and go to a backup when the Bookmarks were there. Paste the below into the search bar at the top right. Restore the file.


~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist.

Try “Restore from iCloud”.

Click the arrow beside “Restore Safari Bookmarks and “Reading List” to expand the section.


Restore your Safari bookmarks and reading list

  • Go to Settings on iCloud.com, then click Restore Bookmarks (in the Advanced section).
    Available versions are listed by the date and time they were archived.
  • To the right of the version you want to restore, click Restore.
    There may be more versions than can be shown at once. Scroll to see more.
    Note: Wait until iCloud finishes restoring your Safari bookmarks and reading list before you change them. While they’re being restored, any changes you make aren’t saved.
