When I want to annotate text with highlighting in Preview 10.1 (944.6.16) and use the shortcut keys "Control + Command + H" I get a strikethrough instead of highlighting. I'm assuming this is bug? Apple can you please fix? Others, have you experienced this same problem? Thanks.
Try the following:
1) Quit Preview
2) In the Finder, press command-shift-G, paste the following line and press enter:
~/Library/Containers
3) Drag all the folders in there that start with "com.apple.Preview" out of this folder (you may drag them to the trash if you like; they will be rebuilt from default values the next time you start Preview)
4) Start Preview again and test.
Hi. I have a related problem in Preview too. The Highlight shortcut Command + Control + H doesn't work. The only way to highlight is going to Tools - Annotate - Highlight Text or by using the Highlight Icon at the Toolbar. I've tried in Safe Boot Mode, Restoring shortcuts to default, changing the account user but none of them worked. The Underline shortcut works fine. I tried what you told in this thread but it didn't work :(. It has been like this since the first day of the computer. Does anybody know how to fix it? Thanks.
It is working here. Does it show the shortcut command-control-H in the menu, next to Highlight?

First, Apple is not here. This is a users forum. Highlighting works for me using Command + Control + H". You seem to have a shortcut conflict. Either one you created or caused by software you installed. It could also be caused by the keyboard layout/source you are using.
Even when I don't use the short cut and simply select "highlight text" from the menu "tools" > "annotate" > "highlight text" submenu I get a strikethrough.
The only way I can highlight text is by using the highlight button from the toolbar, selecting the down arrow, and then choosing the color I want to use. Interestingly, if I simply click on the highlighter, I also incorrectly get a strikethrough instead. It only works correctly if I select a color.
Where is "highlight" within the shortcut submenus? (keyboard, services, spotlight, etc.) I can't seem to find it within any of them.
So how would I troubleshoot and fix this? I definitely didn't create this shortcut conflict on purpose and I don't think it is a result of a software install.
