How do I unfavorite multiple photos on iPad

How do I remove multiple pictures from my Favorites album on my iPad without deleting them?

I added many pictures to my Favorites album on my iPad. I am running iOS 12.1. It is easy to select many pictures at once and it was easy to add them to my Favorites album. But I cannot remove multiple pictures without deleting them. I do not want to delete them.
