My Photo Stream Folder is Missing in Photos app in Mohave

I have a new problem with Photos. In the MacOS app, there is no My Photo Stream folder. It used to be there so I know everything is set up correctly. I generally have photos from my iPhone show up in the Photos app, but I have had problems having images move from the phone's Camera Roll to Photo Stream (on the phone - so they were missing in the MacOS app as well). But now I don't even have a Photo Stream folder on my iMac. The images from the iPhone ARE in the "Photos" folder but where is the My Photo Stream folder?

What's up?

Did you perhaps enable iCloud Photos in the Photos > Preferences > iCloud?

If iCloud Photos is enabled, the My Photo Stream album will not be shown.

I cannot test this, because I have iCloud Photos enabled.

I would expect it to appear in the Shared section, together with the other iCloud items.

The document above says:

Important: If you have My Photo Stream turned on and you’re not using iCloud Photos, photos from My Photo Stream appear in the My Photo Stream album under Albums in the sidebar. If you’re using iCloud Photos, you don’t see a My Photo Stream album—all your photos are added to the All Photos album.

You may want to look in the "Media" section in Albums as well.

I did as you suggested. The Photos app in the test account has a different menu than in my regular user account. See screen capture. The Photo Stream folder was slowly loading the same photos that were already in my regular account photos folder. There are still photos on my iPhone's Camera Roll (which is set to jpeg) that are not getting loaded into My Photo Stream on the phone (which is really on a server before they go back to the phone, per my understanding) so they do not appear on my iMac.User uploaded file

I repaired permissions per the process you linked. That fixed My Photo Stream in MacOS Photos app. I confirmed again that photos taken on my iPhone do not migrate to My Photo Stream on my phone and hence they don't appear there in the iMac Photos app. I downloaded the photos manually (including some shots taken after the permissions update and reboot) and confirmed they are jpegs. The phone is on the same wifi network as the iMac and has a fully charged battery and has My Photo Stream enabled in iCloud section of the phone's Settings. So that is still a problem and has been for months (on and off).
