FCP won't render for YouTube, Vimeo, or 4K Web

All,

I am working on a seasonal video loop project. It is to go on a flash drive and run as a video loop on a TV in our business. I have done this before without difficulty.

The holiday project I am working on has many of the same clips plus a few new ones that are seasonal. I usually render in Vimeo 4k, YouTube 4k, or 4k for web as the compression and file size is good to work with a flash drive.

For some reason, this project will NOT finish rendering. I get to 88% complete and it just sticks there. Never finishes, never times out. So here are the troubleshooting steps I have already taken....

1. Ensured the project settings are the same as others I have rendered.

2. Deleted my rendered files for potentially corrupt ones.

3. I have attempted to render other projects for YouTube / Vimeo / 4K and they render easily.

4. This one project....I can render it out in Apple Pro Res 422 just fine. But the file is then too large to put on a FAT32 flash drive for the TV. So the project does render.....just not in any web based formats.

5. I have sent the project to compressor. Same problem. Won't render in the web based formats but will render in Apple Pro Res.

Can anyone tell me if there are clips or formats that will hang up a render? The project does render out in other formats but ones I can't really use.

Are there any other suggestions?

Kind Regards,

It's not the flash drive that is the issue. I included the flash drive info simply to point out I don't want a 9 GB file. Something more 4-5 GB.

When I mean render I mean export. I am exporting to my desktop first just to see if I can get it to complete the job. I never have it render or export to a flash drive straight out.

No...it gets hung up on just that job. I suspect one of the videos is in a format it is not happy with. Problem is....which one out of about 10? I rendered each separate clip (export) without problems to see if they would export. All 10 clips did. But put them together and export the entire project and it comes to a screeching halt.

Tom I appreciate the attempt but I think you need to read what I have above.

THE FLASH DRIVE IS IRRELEVANT.

I am rendering to my desktop which is not a flash drive. The process never completes. It gets stuck. It never finishes. Stays there all day long and never times out. We can worry about putting the video on a flash drive "if" I can even get a video exported. That's my problem.

Again.....I only mentioned the flash drive to point out I could not have an excessively large file. With Fat32 file size is limited to 4 GB. So if it helps you....I have tried FAT32, NTFS, APFS formatting. But again....if I have no file to put on the flash drive....it is not the rate limiting step.

Do you by chance have anyway to work the problem above? Do you ever have a file or clip inside a project that just doesn't want to play nice? If so, how do you figure out which one it is? The videos I have all come in different formats. Some still images. Some videos at 25 FPS and some at 29.97 and a few at 30 FPS.

I have a feeling since I can render any other project and put it on my flash drive that there is a clip inside the project that isn't playing nice in the sandbox.

Any ideas how to solve that?

Thanks
