I've read everything onlineI could and cannot seem to get the sound back on my screenshots. I've checked system preferences (sound), checked that the volume was turned on, etc. I really depend on the sound for my shots. Any thoughts on what to try next?

Thank you so much but it doesn't work. I forgot to say that I also had tried that. I just double checked, it was checked, un checked it and then checked off the box again. Still doesn't work. The screen shots are working but it's totally silent and hard to know. Just so weird. It's always worked so well before.

Thank you for all the info. I didn't have anything plugged into the ports. I haven't needed to try the above steps that you proposed as it is now working. I toggled all the previous buttons in preferences (sound, etc) and restarted. The sound is now working, however, I had already done that once before but I guess two times is charmed! Thanks again. I will keep your solutions handy in the event this happens again.
