Gigabyte RX 580 "Gaming Box" eGPU with 13" MBP 2018

Hello all. I've been looking to upgrade from my aging 2014 base model 13" MacBook Pro. I've been eyeing the 2018 15" MacBook Pro, but 4000+ dollars for the Vega 20 machine is simply too much. For half of that, I could have a decent 13" Model, but I still need graphical power.

So my question is, will the "GIGABYTE Gaming Box RX 580" work on a 13" 2018 MacBook Pro? More specifically, would I be able to harness its power WITHOUT an external display?

Looks like an eGPU can accelerate also an internal display.

"With macOS Mojave, you can now use an eGPU to accelerate compatible apps on the built-in display of any Thunderbolt 3–enabled Mac."
