Any security concerns with Java SE 11.0.1?

I'm running macOS 10.14.1 and today downloaded an application that is distributed as a .jar file. When I ran it, I was notified that I needed to install Java and was directed to an Oracle site to download Java SE 11.0.1.

I did so, and the application seems to be working fine. Is there anything further I need to be concerned about? Any security issues with this Java on Mojave?

Java has a long, storied history of security patches over the years. Pick a version. Java 11 will undoubtedly have security updates as its exploits are discovered. A security issue within Java will not necessarily be detectable in an application that works fine, and concern about what you are not aware of will just wear you down.

About all you can do is routinely visit the Oracle Java site for any related Java news, and keep up to date on all updates to Java 11. I would not enable it in any browser though.
