Where does bedtime alarm get the weather forecast from?

i have the bedtime alarm set in clock settings and each morning when it goes off it give me a weather forecast for the day - obviously wrong as it always reports it will be around 23 degrees and sunny As soon as I turn the alarm off it appears and then disappears, its not in notifivations. I have checked in different places to see if I can identify where it gets these temperatures from but don’t know where else to look. It’s giving me false hope, every day, that the warm weather is coming back 😉

As I said, can’t think of any other area the device gets weather info, so if you already have “Always” enabled try selecting one of the others then after a few seconds select “Always” again, it might just be a glitch.

You could also try a Forced Restart because that’s be known to correct some unusual device behaviour in the past.

I used to use an app called Haze that would never give the correct weather information for my city. I talked to their tech support and they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. Eventually I just ended up switching to AccuWeather and Dark Sky.

I know with Bedtime you can't select which weather app you use but it's possible that they have the same issue that Haze did for me where the data they are receiving from the weather stations in your area are incorrect or are faulty.

Weather Channel is the provider (company) of weather info that Apple currently uses, so when you open the default Weather App it pulls the data from Weather Channel for the locations set by the user.

With respect to getting the current info the device needs to know your location which you can set manually in the Weather App or you can let your device find it via gps, if the “Bedtime” function is getting the wrong location you may be able to correct that by going to Settings/Privacy/Location Services/Weather and check that “Always” is enabled.

Selecting “Always” allows weather info to be kept up to date in the background so when any service calls on it, it is relevant, otherwise it is only current when you access the Weather App.

I’m not aware of any other location for setting weather in iOS and I haven’t used and therefore setup “Bedtime”, so can’t say if that process has a location setting (others may advise if it does).

Hope this helps.
