Merge partitions into a single one

Hello,

While attempting to install windows 10 on my Mac using Bootcamp in Mac OSX Mojave, it got stuck on "please wait while boot camp assistant is removing the partitions it created". I then followed the instructions on the thread

Stuck on "please wait while boot camp assistant is removing the partitions it created"

However, after this, I still have two partitions. I would like to merge them into a single partition in order to attempt installing windows 10 again. If it solves the problem, I'm willing to restore to factory settings since the computer is brand new and I haven't installed much else on it (How is this done?)

When I run diskutil list, I get:

/dev/disk0 (internal):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: GUID_partition_scheme 500.3 GB
disk0

1: EFI EFI 314.6 MB

Found a solution: In the disk utility I clicked on View -> Show All Devices, which showed the physical volume. I then clicked on that and in "partition", which allowed me to delete the extra partition. Is the following diskutil output normal for a mac with a single partition?

/dev/disk0 (internal):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: GUID_partition_scheme 500.3 GB
disk0

1: EFI EFI 314.6 MB
disk0s1

2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 500.0 GB
disk0s2

/dev/disk1 (synthesized):

0: APFS Container Scheme - +500.0 GB
disk1
