I have a HP Simplesave which was earlier used for Windows. Now I want to use this for IMAC, but my Imac can not recognize this either on Finder or the Disk utility. If anyone has similar issues, please help me out. I tried to use Tuxera Disk Manger, but that did not work out.

Do you still have access to the Windows computer? If so use it to reformat as FAT 32. Then your Mac will be able to see it and reformat it as OS X Extended (journaled).
