Apple TV 4K password entry

Recently I upgraded from Apple TV original to 4th generation. I'm finding it very difficult maintaining the various apps that demand passwords from time to time. Occasionally apps like netflix, crave, CBC, itunes,icloud etc. will forget who I am and ask me to re login.

The problem is, I have followed best practices and created passwords that are very strong, including up, lower case letters, symbols and numbers and long. Imagine a strong password like o&X!n^eXw54jw0TZC*UEUx%^D

The interface on apple TV is very cumbersome and requires considerable manual dexterity on the touch pad to select the appropriate key. The voice interface doesn't always get it right, the password field hides your entry after a second. All this means its very frustrating entering passwords like the above. I was almost tempted to go back to simple 10 character passwords, but that defeats the purpose of a good secure password.

The Apple TV 1rst generation allowed me to use my iphone as a remote and use the iphone keyboard to type or cut and past an entry in. This 4th generation ATV doesn't allow me to do that. I am getting to dread the times when I have to enter a password in my apple TV. My dog runs and hides when he hears me swear at the Apple TV and my wife derides me for getting rid of the old Apple TV and doesn't understand my need to have the latest gadget.

Is there any easier way or interface to enter passwords in the Apple TV 4 gen?
