Hair and Debris Under Keys

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and their hair always gets stuck in my keys and most likely crumbs from when I am eating over my computer. The keys are functioning fine, but I'd rather have it clean. My "fn" key makes an annoying clacking sound every time I press it, though. I don't want to have to remove keys, but I have a feeling I will have to. How should I clean under them?

Removing key caps is definitely NOT the answer.


The approved method is to tilt the keyboard at a steep angle and blast the base of the key caps with compressed air. Then tip to the right and repeat, then tip to the left and repeat:
