Phantom ring on iphone

I have and have had a phantom ring on my phone. It occurs several times per day and at all hours. It is 2 1/2 rings of the default ringtone. This is NOT my ringtone. I have changed my cell number within my provider, gone into the store for recommendations (to which I received none) and now even have a brand new phone. This is cumbersome, disruptive and unacceptable. Help!

Hello shaylm,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing issues with the ringtone playing unexpectedly on your iPhone. Since this has followed you to a new iPhone, please use iTunes on your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily set up your phone as new to test your issues, and then restore your back up and test the issues again.
