iMovie freeze frame problem

With the cursor over the frame I want to freeze I CONTROL AND RIGHT CLICK. A 4 second freeze frame thumbnail appears on the time line. However, no picture appears when dragging the cursor over the 4 second freeze frame thumbnail. What is the solution? My Mac was purchased early this year (2018), and came with OS 10.13.6 and iMove version 7.1.4.

I've been using the previous version of imovie since i got my new macbook pro a couple a months ago with no problem. iMovie will not open - spinning wheel After doing some updates to my operating system and my iMovie app, every time I try to open the program it gets stuck. I have the spinning wheel constantly and cannot get to any of my projects/libraries. I have tried every fix i've been able to find on the internet but nothing seems to be working. Hi,

Adding a freeze frame doesn't add a thumbnail, it freezes a frame of your video clip for 3 seconds. (You can later edit it.) To cover the bases, here's a link that will explain how to add a freeze frame:
