iCloud and Outlook 2019 profile issue

My PC was updated to Outlook 2019 and since that happened I'm having connection problems with iCloud, which is a real problem because I need to be able to view my schedule wherever I happen to be, the reminders are a life saver for me very often. iCloud doesn't appear to recognise the profile for Outlook for some reason and complains whenever I try with this message "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again.", the fact that Outlook is running perfectly happily and using the profile it was given doesn't seem to affect the iCloud installation at all, despite repeat reinstallation of iCloud which does nothing to alleviate the problem when the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks with Outlook" is checked.

I had the same problem and fixed it this morning. I went to Control Panel and uninstalled (removed) iCloud for Windows. I downloaded a fresh copy and installed that. The error message is gone and my calendar and contacts are now available to Outlook 2019.

Do you have any other suggestions? I am having the same issue and this link does not address the issue that was posted - iCloud doesn't appear to recognise the profile for Outlook for some reason and complains whenever I try with this message "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."

I had the same problem and an apple technician just fixed it for me. I bought a new computer with Windows 10 pro and outlook 2019 and it would not sync with iCloud.

Go to your program list, go to iCloud, choose iCloud from drop down menu, right click on iCloud, select more, select open file location, select properties, select compatibility, run compatibility troubleshooter, then choose try recommended settings...it should open the iCloud windows and sync! Good luck

I am running Windows 10 Pro. I have been running Outlook 2016 (Office 2016 Pro Plus) for months and successfully syncing my Outlook calendar and contacts with my iPhone and iPad via the iCloud app on my PC. I just updated my Office to 2019 today. It stopped working. When starting iCloud app, I get error message, ""Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.  Check your Outlook settings and try again." I ran the compatibility troubleshooter, accepted the recommended change (Windows 8 compatibility), but no success. Is there an update coming for iCloud for PC to enable it to recognize Outlook 2019? Help!

My Microsoft Office installation was transferred from my old laptop to a new desktop computer, both using Windows 10. My old laptop had Office 2016 on it, the new computer had Office 365, but using the profile from the older installation. The Microsoft technician had to reinstall Office 365, rebuild my profile and bring my old Outlook data files to get the synching to work.
