Canon T7i RAW images not seen in Aperture.

I just bought a Canon T7i and the RAW images are not "seen" in Aperture v.3.6 running on OS 10.10.5. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

ken

Use this free app from Adobe, to Convert your RAW files to DNG files and they will open in Aperture.

Scroll down to Downloads section, Digital Negative (DNG), Adobe DNG Converter

The RAW support for this camera has been released with macOS 10.12.5. (Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 10 and macOS Sierra - Apple Support)

If you upgrade to this system, you will be able to develop the RAW files in Photos for Mac and convert them to TIFFS, so Aperture can open them. But Aperture cannot use any of the newer RAW support, that has been released after Mac OS 10.12 came out.

For new cameras you need a different application, if you are shooting RAW - Aperture has not been updated since more than four years ago - Aperture 3.6 is from October 16, 2014.

This is brilliant! Thank you! It is just what I need. I finally figured I could download the Cannon software app to open and work on RAW files, but then the only thing I could import into Aperture would be jpg files. The Canon software, when converting RAW images to jpgs was slower than molasses, and I am on a fast machine. This digital negative converter is blindly fast! Thank you so much for your help!
