Canon Camera Connect app

Ok, I installed the Canon Camera Connect app to be able to move photos from my new Rebel T6 to my iPad. I went to look for where the test photo ended up and was not able to find it. What I did find was probably thousands of new Albums with nothing in them. All were titled Canon EOS Rebel T6, with 0 photos in them.

Has anyone else encountered this and if so, is there a way to mass delete all of these added albums?

Thank you.

FWIW... For those trying to mass delete the empty albums (assuming you use iCloud), you needn't download anything to do so. You can simply access your photos via your iCloud account online at https://www.icloud.com (so Mac or PC, of course) and click on albums in the navigation panel. The empty albums should appear grouped together at the bottom of the screen (mine did). You can hold shift while selecting them and delete them at once. I still selected them in smaller groups just to be on the safe side that I didn't grab something else by accident. Even so, it took me very little time to do it. It's at least a quick workaround until Cannon gets their act together.

Canon app support is of absolute no help. I call them 4 times - each time they say “someone will call you in 2 day”.

I have sent email through the app support website which go unanswered.

i want to write a review of the app and the issue, oddly, is not allowing that either.

i suggest people here write a review of app ( if you can)

I'm not sure I’m following. My extra empty albums are on my phone only. I’m using photostream, not Library, so I don’t see the albums in iCloud. My iPads are fine. I have tried 3 file managers-one didn’t see the empty folders. The other two did, but wouldn't let me delete. So, I now have nearly 3 thousand empty folders, and deleting them one by one is not an option. Any other suggestions?

Tillman, what did tech support tell you to do?

They told me to replace the SD card in my camera, delete the Camera Connect app, sync my photo albums up with my Mac, delete the empty folders then reinstall the Camera Connect app and pair the camera with my phone. But the deal is the folders are not sync’ing up with my Mac, so I’m still stuck with thousands of empty folders. I’m thinking of deleting this folders and buying a Nikon, because I don’t want to chance this nightmare from happening again.
