iPad 6th generation will not charge from my PC

I have a new iPad 6th generation. It charges fine with the provided charger cable and wall charger, but when I plug it into my PC, the PC detects it, as does iTunes, but it does not charge. I have tried various usb ports and it does not work with any of them.

iPad Wi-Fi, iOS 12.1

Thanks for your reply, but Apple and other sites indicate that you can charge from a computer. For example, AT&T says:

"To charge via a computer, connect iPad to the computer using the included Lightning-to-USB cable.

Note: Make sure your computer is plugged in and powered on when you're using it to charge your device. If your device is connected to a computer that's turned off, is in sleep or standby mode, your device's battery may drain."

Apple says:

"Power and Battery7

"Charging via power adapter or USB to computer system"

When I connect it to my computer, it does not charge at all, not even trickle charge.

As you have found out, not all computer USB ports send out high enough power to charge iDevices.

I have a late 2009 iMac and its main USB 2.0 ports supply just enough power to keep my iPads trickle charge and maintain their current battery level when I use my iPads plugged into my Mac.

If you purchase an externally powered ( uses a separate power brick ) USB hub that plugs into your computer, that may supply enough power to charge your iPad while it is connected to the computer.

Good Luck to You!
