Unless these people have had access to your phone while it was unlocked, they could not have installed anything. Is it possible that that happened?

It's possible that your ex knows your Apple ID password. You should change that and add two-factor authentication.

Could someone do this through parental controls. I’m a 50 yr. old don’t need those.

Only if they have had physical access to your unlocked phone or if they have access to your Apple ID and passcode.

Did you read the article I linked to above about what to do it you think your Apple ID has been compromised? If you haven't, now would be a good time to do so.

My Android phone was stolen an hour after I bought it. After a few weeks the thief identified himself (N FLORES by name) when he accessed my Lenovo Android tablet as well both my iPads. Not sure it’s relevant to my question...I’m a disabled veteran suffering emotionally in specific ways, after having been stolen from and then humiliated by the thief. With a companion who is a wizard hacker undaunted by any security measures, my attacker continues to surveille me and intrude in my life and my privacy. I have resigned to the notion there’s nothing I can do about it. In fact I would not be surprised if this post disappeared momentarily ... That has been happening years. During the past four days I’ve spent hours writing posts like these. Not one has ever reached an intended audience.

Well, so here’s a guy looking for “help” in all the wrong places, right? That I can see. Every word of mine is true and clear, however.

More clarity anyone?

He could not have accessed your iPads unless he had physical access to them while they were unlocked. If you had your Apple ID and password stored on your other devices, he could have gained access to your Apple ID. If you think that's the case, you should follow the instructions in the link I posted above.
