Contacts will not sync between iPhone and MacBook Air

I have re-merged my contacts from my iPhone into iCloud several times, even logging out on my phone and logging back in, but it seems as though only a small portion of my contacts are available in iCloud on both my Mac's messaging app and iCloud.com. Is there any way to resolve this issue?

contact syncing I finally have my first Mac and for the life of me I am unable to sync my contacts between my iPhone and Mac. I have contacts set to iCloud, iCloud has been set up on both devices as well as signing out and signing back in. I even made a fresh backup in iCloud but cannot seem to get the contacts to sync onto my new MacBook Pro 2020. I log into iCloud online and it shows no contacts there but my iPhone is set to use iCloud contacts. Is there a better way to go about this?

New Contacts from iPhone not Syncing to iCloud and MacBook My contacts were not syncing from iPhone to MacBook, so I went to settings, turned off Contacts in iCloud saving onto iPhone, then turned them on again clicking Merge. It did not fix the problem. I went into Contacts in iCloud and searched for a couple relatively new (not brand new) contacts and they're not there. I also browsed to where they should be alphabetically and they weren't there. I then edited an existing contact and that worked fine - it edited on my iPhone and in the iCloud. So it appears the connection is fine, but new contacts are not being synced. Any suggestions for what I can do?

Contacts not syncing from Mac to iCloud or iPhone Hi, I typically add contacts on my Macbook Pro but they are not syncing with iCloud or my iPhone. I've double checked all my settings and icloud is syncing. I also checked it off and restarted both devices but that didn't work. I even looked on my Mac to make sure the contacts are being saved on my icloud list and that is happening too. Not sure what else to do to fix this issue. Thanks for the help!

I realized that default account for contacts on my iphone was storing them locally. I created a vcard and then exported them to iCloud from there. Everything works great!

I just realized that the contacts are stored under "personal" rather than iCloud in my phone. Is there a way to migrate them?

I just tried this and it seems that there are still a large number of contacts missing from my iCloud account, despite them being there on my phone.

When you say “personal” - where exact are they?

As in a different app? Not in contacts app?

On Mac:

system prefs-iCloud- UNCHECK contacts.

sign out.

on iOS

go to your name- UNCHECK CONTACTS - sign out.

then back to your Mac, system prefs- iCloud- Sign in and CHECK contacts.

STAY SIGN IN.

on iOS

sign back to iCloud, CHECK contacts and STAY SIGN IN.
