How to prevent Bluetooth from automatically connecting to other devices?

Oh hi, I have a iPhone Xs. I have a problem where when I’m using my bluetooth headphones and when I walk into my apt. it will automatically connect to my stereo reciever’s Bluetooth but never the other way around. Is there a way where I can stop the auto-connect. Hoor someone has an answer for this because it’s really annoying. Thank you in advance!
