10.4.4 Renders disappear on restart and other bugs

Bugs in 10.4.4

1. Render files are lost upon fcpx relaunch or just by going in a compound clip and out again (neat video/colorista plugins used) https://youtu.be/Gms4g-Hw5MM (here is an example where the renders dissapear simply by restarting fcpx 10.4.4.)

2. Exporting won't use the render files - it will take as much time to export as it takes to render.

3. While sweeping the channel EQ plugin and moving the mouse out of the eq ui window, the sweep is interrupted.

4. Using space to start/stop playback after having adjusted something on the channel eq is not working. Need to click back on the timeline and press space again.

5. When in audio lane mode, the timeline will automatically zoom out (shift-z) by itself sometimes.

6. Native noise reduction changes colors on image and artifacts making the image unusable.

7. Not a bug, but batch export won't let you batch export from the timeline, only from the browser window.

8. Audio waveforms won't update - they will freeze to their previous state. i.e. clicking on the loudness checkbox and de-clicking it won't update the waveforms every time.

I am usually loading UHD 29.97 fps h264 8 bit 100Mbps clips into an 1080p timeline. FCPX 10.4.4 on OSX 10.14.2 has been struggling to respond any inputs.

These steps from the List of trouble shooting options seemed to have cured the problem.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203477     - Resolve an issue in Final Cut Pro X

Reset NVRAM

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC)

Also,  I now use Compressor to transcode the clips into Prores and downsize them to 1080p before importing them into FCPX.

The performance is good in all respects, as it used to be.

The disappearing render problem is the same as it was in my first post.

Tom hello,

Yes I am exporting to the native ProRes 422 codec. This and the 'lost render files' are my two biggest issues, since it takes 2 hours to export the timeline and the client wants micro changes. Perhaps one of you here can test this and if it happens to you - report it as well so that it gets fixed in 2-3 months!
