No serial number on Macbook Pro USB-C Charge cable

I was looking around today and found the page about checking what wattage your USB cable is rated for.

I wanted to check if the USBC cable I got on ebay was a 29W/61W/87W, but to my surprise it had no serial number.

So I checked the one that came with my 2018 Macbook Pro and it has no serial or designed by apple either.

Whats up? did they change that? I would say my ebay cable would be a fake, but the one that came out of my box has nothing either so Im confused.

NM.

I just looked again and VERY faintly, in light grey, on off white cable, about 9 inches from the one end, it says made in china DLCxxxx

Whew! it definitely could pass as dirt on first glace. the word 'made' caught my eye. both cables are legit.

I just got my 2018 macbook in Oct. it doesnt have a SN on the cable. Ill ask apple tomorrow when i go to talk about my phone.
