Pages for Mac: replace with line-feed and special characters

In Word you can replace characters with line-feed/carriage-return, tabs and other invisible special characters.

How can you do this in Pages?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.5), early 2015 i5 processor

Hi Mike,

Menu > View > Show Invisibles (just so that you can see what you are doing).

Select an invisible character.

User uploaded file

Menu > Edit > Find > Use Selection for Find (or Replace)

User uploaded file

Menu > Edit > Find > Find... (command F) to bring up the Find & Replace dialogue

User uploaded file

If you want to replace with nothing, leave the Replace box blank.

Hard return (paragraph mark) appears as \n

Tab appears as \t

Soft return (new line) appears as \i

Quick method: you can type those codes into the Find & Replace dialogue.

You can type spaces into the Find & Replace dialogue.

Regards,

Ian.
