wall outlet sparks when plug is inserted...

is this normal????? i dont want to start a fire or something...but i really need my macbook for school

What do you mean it is "poorly"

It is slow because the charger sparks when being plugged in improperly while it is connected to the MB?

I have never had a power supply for a laptop (Mac or PC) that didn't "arc" when plugging it in if it was first connected to the laptop.

I got a replacement power adapter from Apple. It
sparks a little when I plug it in, but it doesn't
crackle as much as the first adapter. It does get
hot. I'm glad I bought the extended warranty.

really,any device that u plug in will spark, if you do it slowly. its very common. my pc laptop does it all the time, and im not going to be conserned when my macbook gets here if it does to.

Not that it really matters but you can minimize it by plugging it in to the main before connecting the mag-safe to the notebook.
