Best resolution from Canon ZR850 or Elura 100?

I'm gonna be getting a video camera soon, I'm thinking about the Canon ZR850or Canon Elura 100.
anyone that has one of these, what is the best resolution you can get with DV tapes with either of these cameras, the site lists the amount of pixels, but that doesn't really help me at all, I'd like to know the actual resolution.

any responses would be great

You'll get a file that will look just fine when played back on a TV.
It will be Standard Definition (640X480 in NTSC).

Actually, those are DV camcorders, and the video will be 720x480. But those are not square pixels. If you convert it to square pixels for viewing on a computer monitor, you end up with 640x480 or 856x480, depending on the aspect ratio of your recording (normal 4:3 or widescreen 16:9).
