Hello. This is the problem I'm having on my work G5. When I try to start Adobe Acrobat Distiller 7 it quits when it gets to the updating font information screen. Any ideas what might be causing this? This computer is also running the latest Suitcase Fusion. This is a mostly PC company so the tech people are useless. Acrobat was just freshly reinstalled on this machine too. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.
You might want to check that Suitcase is not mis-managing or locking out the applicable acrobat fonts. Try removing the acrobat preferences (put the in a folder on your desktop) and see if that helps. If it doesnt try removing all of your adobe preferences to another folder and start up the app. Chances are its timing out due to a holdup in font caching or identification or locking up because the adobe font resources are in use by Suitcase.
You can also try turning off Suitcase and then launch Acrobat. If that works turn Suitcase on afterwards.
Kudos to you my friend. Turning off Suitcase allowed Acrobat Distiller to start up. I then tried just turning off the Adobe fonts and starting Distiller, that also worked. So it must be Distiller and Suitcase fighting over font information. I'll have to see if I can pin point a specific font style.
Hello sliverck, do you have any tips about the samme happening to Distiller 8, I just can't get it to start on my G4 and have tried the things you did on your G5, but nothing has helped.
Apple says is an Adobe thing, adobe says is an Apple thing .
