Poof Icon retrieval?

Accidently grabbed an icon from the dock and did the infamous "poof". I'm not sure alias I poofed! Is there a way I can check? Retrieve?

Any app that gets installed into the /Applications folder needs admin access to install.

And yes, I realize that many apps can be installed inside your home folder. This requires no admin rights. But these apps running in a non-admin account still cannot modify anything outside the user's home folder, unless the user enters the admin password. The same program running in an admin account can take over the whole system.

And yes, I realize that data inside your home folder can be very sensitive, which is why it is important to practice safe computing even when running as non-admin.

But the fact is that you are handing your entire system over to a hacker by running as admin. By running as non-admin, everything outside your home folder is locked down.
