iTunes Store Search Not Working

Whenever I try to use the Quick Search or Advanced Search to find a song, artist, etc., the display towards the top of the iTunes page keeps showing "Accessing iTunes Store" for a long time (maybe 30 seconds to a minute), then it says that the connection to the store is not available. I am able to access other web pages using my Internet Browser, and am able to download the weekly podcast that I subscribe to, as well as browse the music store. Anyone else have this problem, or know what to do to fix it?

I'm afraid I'm having the exact same problem. I enter a search, it takes a long time, and then itunes tells me my network is not connected. The problem is I can access evrything else...and even occasionally can get a search to work on itunes, but with no regularity. This problem seemed to start last night with me.

It could be that they're working on the site...but instead of informing me that there's something wrong with my connection or computer, why don't they just say that they are working on it like Amazon does?

I just receive an e-mail from Apple, and they tell me
that they are working on the problem (or so they
say), and will e-mail me again when the problem has
been resolved.

What email address did you send your question to or what is the URL? I can't even find a place to send them a comment.

I am having the same problem. Apple support stinks.

Thanks

I have the same problem. I can go to my library and click the arrow button next to the artist or song and the search is completed but if I try a manual search it will say it timed out. I thought it was because I have Windows Vista but apparently not. Apple bring on the patch or next version fixing this bug. And your os label to identify what os i have before i post this comment still does not include vista.

it gives a few options on fixing the problem that have worked for some people. The first key is which Internet Explorer you use. Most seem to not be using IE (internet Explorer)

In Internet explorer I went to the iTunes site. I proceeded to confirm installation of active x drivers/Plug ins where I was prompted. (I don't typically use IE anymore.)

I then added iTunes to my allowed sites and quit the application. Ever since I have been able to search like normal. Not sure why it was such a problem, most likely an update to help with the compatibility in Windows Vista.

Hope this helps out. If that alone does not work try clearing the DNS with the Run Command ipconfig /flushdns
(Start > Run > "ipconfig /flushdns") without the quotes.

Good Luck.
