iTunes Store Search Not Working

Whenever I try to use the Quick Search or Advanced Search to find a song, artist, etc., the display towards the top of the iTunes page keeps showing "Accessing iTunes Store" for a long time (maybe 30 seconds to a minute), then it says that the connection to the store is not available. I am able to access other web pages using my Internet Browser, and am able to download the weekly podcast that I subscribe to, as well as browse the music store. Anyone else have this problem, or know what to do to fix it?

I'm afraid I'm having the exact same problem. I enter a search, it takes a long time, and then itunes tells me my network is not connected. The problem is I can access evrything else...and even occasionally can get a search to work on itunes, but with no regularity. This problem seemed to start last night with me.

It could be that they're working on the site...but instead of informing me that there's something wrong with my connection or computer, why don't they just say that they are working on it like Amazon does?

YES, I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND APPLE MADE ME GO THROUGH SEVERAL TESTS AND TOLD ME MY INTERNET CONNECTION WAS NOT WORKING WHEN INDEED IT IS 100% WORKING. I CALLED APPLE BACK AFTER 3 CALLS AND SEVERAL HOURS OF TESTING TODAY UPDATING,REINSTALLING ETC... I FILED A COMPLAINT BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY HAVE MADE ME GO THROUGH AND IF THEY SIMPLY LOOK AT THEIR OWN DISCUSSION BOARDS, THEY WOULD HAVE REALIZED THAT THEY ARE THE ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IF THEY TELL US THIS IS THEIR PROBLEM, THEN I CAN WAIT UNTIL IT IS FIXED INSTEAD, THEY HAVE NOT AND WE ALL KEEP TRYING AND TRYING. IT'S RIDICULOUS..

I have sent a note to Apple as well since they initially provided the same generic information about checking my system connections when, in fact, it does not appear to be my system but rather a consequence of downloading the latest version of itunes since I have never had the problem before until doing so. While I can't use the quick Search in the itunes store to find anything, I can use the itunes browser to find a musical artist--all of them, albeit this is a long-hand way to find things and not very convenient. Hopefully Apple will have a fix for this.

Reverting to 7.0 didn't work for me. Looks like I have to go through the Browse for my music. I'm just hoping they've finally agreed this is a wide-scale problem and most definitely not due to failed Internet connections.

Personally, I have different definitions of some song genres, so it's gonna be a blast finding them, especially since the artist may not allow their songs on the Internet.

I'm having the same issues too. A few days ago I couldn't even open iTunes without my computer wanting to shut it down. I finally had to remove the old iTunes and download the latest (not greatest - apparently - version). Yesterday morning I searched for and downloaded a couple songs, but today my searches just time out. This seems to be a frequent problem. I wish they'd read the discussion boards and get their act together!

Hey! I just figured out that if I go to the on-line iTunes store http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/ I can do my search there, and if I have my iTunes open it will connect me to my result. I was doing an artist search, so that worked pretty good; but it could be a bit tedious if you are doing a song search. Worth a shot if you really wanted that song today...
