OWC's NewerTech MiniStack V2, good for FCP 5.0 media drive?
Hi all.
[Short version:]
OWC Mercury Elite 500GB (OWCMAU4F7500G16) vs. OWC's NewerTech MiniStack V2 500GB (NWTMS2F7500G16) in FCP 5.0
[Long version:]
I was about to order an external firewire enclosure w/ drive ( yet another) from OWC. I've had good experience with them in the past, and I need the space. I was about to order a 500gig external w/ firewire 400. (I've got an iMac G5 (ambient light sensor) which only has FW400.
But I noticed a product they offer catered to the mac Mini owners. Essentially an external firewire enclosure, w/ fan and 3 FW ports and 4 USB port (which I won't use). I know the FW ports are on the same bus, so it's only a hub. But I'm wondering if this thing is in any way better for video editing in FCP 5 than a simple enclosure.
They both have Oxford 911 plus.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
iMac G5 (ver. II ) 1.8 GHz, 2GB, 250GB, dual monitors Mac OS X (10.4) 1.5TB external storage. Pismo Powerbook 2000, no witty tagline.
