Wireless Keyboard/Mouse problem since 10.4.9

Hi All,
Not sure if this has been posted by anyone else, but since updating to 10.4.9 on my 17" G4 iMac and and 17" G5 iMac - I have had ongoing problems with bluetooth on each computer where the keyboard continually drops out with "Connection Lost" error (Usually once a minute when I am using the keyboard). (Keyboard problem on the G4 iMac)
And on the G5 iMac, I am having exactly the same problem but with the mouse dropping out every minute or so.

I've reset the PRAM on both computers, but still the same problem.

Any help hugely appreciated.

I give up, none of the above have permanently resolved the problem. I have now chucked the Apple BT keyboard and mouse onto the junk pile and (somewhat ironically) replaced it with my old Microsoft Wireless KB and Mouse.

I feel this maybe the start of inevitable drift back to PC's and Windows 😟. At least they can get a simple keyboard and mouse to work !

Looks like this could be a 10.4.9 issue. I had a perfectly stable Mac running 10.3.9 until a couple of weeks ago when I bit the bullet and 'upgraded' - mainly so that I could run some software that would only run on Tiger. Boy do I regret it. Losing the Bluetooth connection is just one of a long list of problems I've had. I've run ever test imaginable, 'repaired' and 'maintained' until the cows come home, but still I get these irritating niggles and no problem is ever found. Losing the kyboard once in a while is an odd one, but is usually resolved by turning it on and off again and then restarting. Fortunately I dumped the Bluetooth mouse months ago when I was having problems which seemed to be down to my USB 1 hub and so I can usually get things going again by just using the wired mouse. In recent months I've only had the occasional drop out of Bluetooth when starting up, but specifically not finding the keyboard is a new one and certainly only appeared after the upgrade.
My Mac is now the most unstable it's been in the past 21/2 years and in my humble opinion it all boils down to 10.4.9.

This is my first Mac (24" IMac). I just got it Saturday and all I know about is version 10.4.9.
Anyway I have the wireless kb/mighty mouse from Apple using the built in bluetooth, and I keep intermittantly having the mouse lose its connection...it will also say so on the display. This morning when I turned the Mac on the kb had lost connection. For the mouse to come back I wait at least 30 seconds and it will find a connection again. The location of said kb/mouse is less than 8" away.

I called Apple support and they blessed that my software version are current and yes I have replaced the brand new batteries, twice.
AppleCare walked me through powering off the mouse and kb and having it be rediscovered. That was all of 15 minutes ago, so it is too early to say if my problem is solved.

I am a Windows person and using a Mac for the first time. I've used Logitech wireless in the past with no issues. This problem I am having with the Mac feels like a bug in the OS with bluetooth. Unfortunatly I do not have the patience for a mouse/kb problem and will purchase a USB non-Apple product and throw away $60 to experience, provided I can't find another solution.

I have no idea why, but my system now seems to have stabilised and I'm not having any more problems.

For several days I was losing the Bluetooth connection to my keyboard - especially immediately after start-up. This would eventually sort itself out after a bit of fiddling around without actually having to re-pair it. Then on the final occasion I was then asked to re-pair the keyboard by entering the code that appears when you originally set up a Bluetooth device and since then I haven't had any problems for a couple of weeks now. If you haven't done so already try setting up your Bluetooth keyboards/mice from scratch again.
