I recently bought an iPod nano and successfully upgraded my itunes with no problems. Have been using it fine until yesterday when I tried to go onto it I received the message "Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close". We have since de-installed both itunes and quicktime and re-installed both but I still keep getting this message. Help! What's gone wrong?
Thanks for that Timmy, but still not working. I'm sure it's a problem with Quick Time. I don't think it's working as nothing happens when I try to launch it. Also it won't let me de-install it. I go into add and remove programmes, click on remove for Quick Time but it comes up with the following message "fatal error during installation" which doesn't make sense since I'm trying to remove it. Any ideas?
Do you have any other XP user accounts on this computer? Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling from them? If you don't have another user, create one with admin access and try again. It may be something corrupt within your main user.
Have tried everything on your list Timmy, and my husband who is pretty good on computers was up till the early hours last night stripping the pc right down, removing everything itunes and quicktime related, did two full system restores, and still it won't work.
I downloaded itunes onto my daughter's pc with no problems so I guess it's something that has gone wrong on this one. Now for the next question. Is it possible to load up everything FROM my ipod onto itunes on her pc? Or do I have go and download everything again (at great expense) and go through the tedious chore of importing CDs? I'm hoping that it will only be a temporary thing until I get get it sorted on this pc, so want as little hassle as possible!
