Second monitor to display dashboard widgets?

hi everyone,

one question: i want to attach a second screen to my MBP. can i activate the dashboard to be displayed only on the external screen while working normally on my MBP's main screen?
the problem behind this: i want my MBP to display a clock and this i can easily solve with a dashboard widget. alternatively: does anyone know a good desktop clock, that simply displays the system time?

thanks for your comments,

matthias

Hi Matthias

I'm not sure you can have an external screen just for your dashboard, but you might be able to get the effect you're looking for by putting widgets on the desktop.

There's a useful tutorial on how to do this on Ask Dave Taylor, here: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/dashboardwidgets_on_my_mac_os_xdesktop.html

You could use the built in clock as one option. A 2nd monitor to show the time seems downright silly.

How? You ask: Clock: In the Data & Time pane's Menu Bar Clock tab, select "Show the date and time in the menu bar".

Another option is to buy a clock for $10 and set it down next to the computer.

Here is a cool way to show the time AND date in the menu bar:
