HP Laserjet 2200/2300 compatible w/ OS 10.4?

I am looking at these now discontinued workhorse printers from HP, but on operating system compatibility the product description says works only with "Classic".

I would not know why that would be the case, as I am currently using OS10.4.9 with an old pre-USB Apple Laserwriter 4/600 through a router just fine?

Please let me know whether I will have any connectivity problems with these HP products.

Drivers are included in OS X. I've heard no problems.

I am able to print to a networked HP 2200 just fine from 10.4.9. Both the 2200 and the 2300 are available choices in the dropdown menu when you Add Printer.

New printer, but HP is still the challenge. I have an old LaserJet 6P (which works better than the new ones!), but the latest Mac Drivers for their printers doesn't include this one. Does anyone have one I could download.

OS X 10.4 includes a driver for a Laserjet 6P/6MP - postscript. If that doesn't work for you, try the Laserjet 6 Series driver included in OS X. Or, update the Gimp-Print drivers to Gutenprint 5.0.0:

Greg:

Thank you for the directions - it actually got me excited again. Alas, I am getting a 404 error (File does not exist) when I type in that address. Is it correct and should I just keep trying? (Or, as I fear, it too has disappeared . . .)
