Disk Utility Asking for Admin Password

It sound like keychains is not linking to the account it happen when you reset the password from Mac OS X DVD or from the other administrator account.

Seems to me that it wants to repair permissions of files owned by root.

In my opinion, it actually should ask you for the admin password.

Check whether your account is listed as an administrator account in the Accounts pane of System Preferences.

If your account is not an administrator account, a password will be needed before Repair Permissions can be used from the Disk Utility.

If your account is an administrator account, click the triangle next to Details, find the requested right, and post back with it.

If you are invoking the Repair Permissions function from the command line, an administrator password will be needed even if you're logged in with an administrator account.
