Mini screen resolutions on a Samsung 32" LCD?

Can anyone tell me what screen resolutions (pixel width x pixel height) would be available to a Mac Mini connected to a Samsung SyncMaster 320P 32" LCD?

A listing of the monitor, which includes "native" and "supported" resolutions, is available here...

... but I haven't found any documentation online about what a Mac Mini, specifically, can push on such a monitor.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Cabinboy, are you connecting via HDMI? VGA? DVI?

I have mine hooked up to a 40" Samsung LCD via a DVI to HDMI cable and have all resolutions up to 1600x900, and 1920x1080 via VGA.

Even though the company says PC's are not supported through HDMI I have not had any problems other than an overscan issue at certain resolutions (which occurs on other brand LCD's I tried it on as well.)

Thanks, Cap!

I haven't bought a cable for hook-up yet. The monitor has been ordered and I'm working on a presentation that is to be displayed on it and for design and layout purposes trying to anticipate how many pixels the Mini will be able to drive.

I'm not so up on the tech.

On your 40", what's the native resolution? As a rule, should I go with a VGA hook-up to achieve the native resolution?

BSteely---

I'm working on a presentation that's supposed to be displayed on this monitor and driven by the Mini and want to know if I can plan on using the native res (highest available would be great for the screens I'm putting together) of 1366 x 768 for design and layout.

I may not have access to the monitor until a day or two before the presentation, so of course, paranoia has me seeking/asking for insight and experience.

Thes best I can tell you is that on my monitor and based on what some others have posted with their flat screens you should have the full range of resolutions available to you with VGA. The HDMI may or may not give you all of the same choices. (as on mine where the highest resolution is only available with overscan) When i first set up my system it automatically went to 1600x900. I do not recall if it was different when hooked up to VGA, it was too long ago.

There are a number of threads on here with different people using different size and model flat screens, with various successes and failures. Should you run into a problem when you do get to hook up the system (hopefully you won't!) it would be worth checking out those threads as well. Maybe even do a little reconnaissance and bookmark a few of the threads after doing a search so you don't have to do it last minute. I know, the threads are too numerous to count but sometimes a little advance research can go a long way when you are pressed for time.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.
