yes, it's covered by warranty. This is a very common flaw on these laptops and it happens quite frequently. Apple SHOULD cover it under warranty since this is obviously a design issue.

I've come across this too and it's been covered by warranty - sometimes the case warps.

This is NOT accidental damage. This is a known weakness in the design and many macbook pros exhibit this. I've had several of these out of the box like this and I've seen many more that developed it over time. Apple simply didn't reinforce that spot or glue it to the internal frame. When you use the computer and put pressure from above by placing your hands on the palmrests, this can happen - especially if the aluminum is misaligned to begin with.

That's not accidental damage. Apple should take care of it. I had similiar problems with mine. They took care of it no questions asked.

My MBP has this issue as well.

What exactly would Apple do about it? Replace that part of the chassis or try to fix/glue the part that you have?

They would replacing the casing and fix what was causing the problem.
That's what happend with my situation. Definetly call them if your having an issue. We spent alot of money for these computers. They shoudln't be falling apart.
