rotating shift work schedule

hi, thanks for taking time to read this.

i work a rotating swing shift each month. basically one week of each.

7 nites followed by 2 days off
6 afternoons followd by 2 days off
7 days followed by 4 days off
repeat

as you can see i need to refer to a calandar to schedule any appointments and what not. also my friends and family need to refer to this also. i hand out calandars pre-marked each xmas 😉

i am looking for ideas to enter my work schedule easily for the year(s)
into iCal without doing each month by hand, each year.

anyone have an idea for this? also hoping to be able to launch the daily script based on my shift. as the cron needs to be changed each time i shift change or it gets missed.....

thanks for the input. i made the beginning of each shift an event theat lasted the length of the shift, say 7 days. then had this repeat every 28 days.

each shift is its own calandar so the bar it draws across the shift dates is unique color for each shift. i then made a calandar group for all three shift calandars so they all display together, color coded.

now i just have to make the scripts run from iCal and i am done. or load a different crontab file for each shift, or something.

i'm gettin it. thanks so much for helping me out!
